Biography:
John Deacon was the bassist for the British rock band Queen. Born August 19, 1951, in Leicester, England, he joined Queen in 1971, completing the band's lineup.
His first appearance as a member of Queen was on their debut album, *Queen*, released in 1973. Deacon was known for his melodic bass lines and songwriting contributions.
He penned several of Queen's biggest hits, including "You're My Best Friend," "Another One Bites the Dust," and "I Want to Break Free." Following Freddie Mercury's death in 1991, Deacon gradually withdrew from public life and involvement with Queen, making only a few subsequent appearances.
